Luther Pilant III
My name is Luther Jackson Pilant III well my real name is at least, a lot of friends and family call me Jackie. I am Creek/Cherokee Indian from Jenks, Oklahoma. I grew up in Jenks and still residing there now. It seems that I have always been drawn back to Oklahoma somehow, maybe it’s the humidity. I traveled west to New Mexico for college and ended up in Santa Fe. I attended the Institute of American Indian Arts, where I received my Bachelors of Fine Art. While I was there I learned most of what I know today, in the arts and native culture. Being there opened my eyes to new ways of understanding and learning. I met many friends at IAIA that are amazing artist and have great personalities that I will remember for the rest of my life. It was hard for me to leave Santa Fe, but change is needed through life and experiences. I have many plans and goals with high ambitions for the future. One of my main goals is to acquire a Masters Degree in Fine Art (either Printmaking or Sculpture). I am building inventory on many schools right now that I may attend. Thinking about getting a Masters Degree in Fine Art has helped me motivate myself to continue to create art and explore different ideas and mediums. Using processes from the printmaking family, such as monotypes, engraving, etching and woodblocks. I have taken different paths from my senior thesis from college and broaden the views in new light. Still working in Industrialism, War and Christianity concepts brings up Ghost images that are conversational to the viewer. The work varies in different sizes and mediums. Trying to create artwork and dealing with real life in the same process, has given new meaning to the term “starving artist.” With the time out of college, I have found that statement to be true. But good comes to those who wait? I am starting my own company called Industrial City Press, an art studio which will offer a variety of different process and mediums. I leave you with this “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and never succeed.”

Cindy Swanson
At age 40 Cindy Swanson decided that she didn’t her life to be defined as a simply a teacher. She took classes in drawing and painting, but it was a mosaic class where she found her “calling” as an artist. After ten years of creating mosaics, she still finds it hard to put into words what it is that created such a strong bond to this art form. Cindy traveled to Italy on two occasions to “feed” her passion. In 2003, she took a workshop from Luciana Notturni at her Scoula Mosaico in Ravenna, which is home of many amazing Byzantine mosaics. Her second trip was in 2005 to Venice for a two-week Master Mosaic class from the Orsoni glass foundry. The Orsoni family has manufactured smalti, an opaque glass paste, since the 1800’s. Holly Higgins
Expressing through art, the beauty that can still come from the lives of people who are broken, feel worthless or cast aside. I believe what makes us who we are is not what happens, but how we handle it... the latter days can be greater than the former! “Jobsite Couture"- Fancy meets hardware. . . in original jewelry design! Wearable art designed with mixed media, recycled materials from our construction jobsites. These materials are combined with other elements such as: vintage jewels, artisan glass work, antique found items and selections from my extensive collection of interesting objects that have been gathered over a lifetime. Each piece is original and one- of- a- kind ( even if the materials were available- I'm too A.D.D. to make a piece twice). It is named and comes with a card that is also signed and numbered #1/1. Jobsite Couture has grown in interest. In addition to art shows, pieces from the collection will soon be available in boutiques and presented in art gallery showings. Remember, that even when life is hard...you can still make it fancy!

Sandy Berenson
I was born and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. After high school I attended the Memphis Academy of Art to follow my dream of becoming a commercial artist. The first day at the Academy I discover the ceramic studio and the magic of the potter’s wheel. Since then I have forever been drawn to the enchantment of the cold clay and spinning water beneath my fingers, as it evolves from a round ball of wet earth to a piece of art. After completing two years at the Academy, marriage and children put me on a different path. I taught pottery classes at the Broken Arrow Community Center and did wheel throwing demonstrations at the schools for nine years, while my children were growing up. My husband built me a kick wheel and I was able to make and sell my pottery. My goal, when working with clay is to create touchable pottery. I want people to not only view the form, but also to feel the many textures. I combine wheel thrown and hand building techniques to create both functional and display pieces. I love having people come to my studio and watch me work. I offer group hand building clay workshops and wheel throwing demonstrations. I welcome commission work from both individuals and organizations. Every piece is signed, dated and stamped with my logo, the hoof print. I choose the name Hoofprint Pottery because of my desire to combine my lifelong passion for horses with my love of working with clay.
Pegi Harmon
I am a self-taught artist, who was fortunate enough to have a mother that loved to draw and did the hand coloring work for my father’s professional photography business before WWII. I picked up the love of art in the form of sculptors, watercolors, oils and etchings at a very young age and as an adult have pursued oils and watercolors. I have recently taken this training into Silk Coloring. I like the freehand drawing and how the color reacts on the silk, making each piece unique. Having recently retired, I hope to expand my knowledge of this art. Now I have once again taken up my brush to do watercolors, acrylics, oils and the Chinese Style of Indian Ink. I prefer the freeness of flow and yet the detail of flowers. I paint in many different styles whether it be on silk, paper or canvas. You may find my silks, watercolors, acrylics and oils at various art shows including Art on Main in Jenks, Mrs. De Havens Harvest Art Faire in Tulsa, The Gallery on Sixth and the Mobile Gallery on Sixth.
